Ghost Radio FAQ
Frequently asked questions about the Ghost Radio app
Ghost Radio Frequently Asked Questions
What is Ghost Radio?
Ghost Radio is a paranormal investigation tool designed to facilitate communication with spirits and entities. It uses a sophisticated algorithm to generate white noise and scan through radio frequencies, creating an environment where spirits may communicate.
How does Ghost Radio work?
The app works on the principle that spirits can manipulate electronic devices to communicate. Ghost Radio creates a dynamic audio environment by:
- Generating white, brown or pink noise as a background carrier
- Applying audio filters to enhance potential spirit voices
- Recording sessions for later analysis
Is Ghost Radio scientifically proven?
While many users report compelling experiences with Ghost Radio, paranormal communication remains outside the realm of conventional science. The app is designed based on theories and techniques used by paranormal investigators worldwide, but results cannot be scientifically guaranteed.
How to get the best results?
For optimal results with Ghost Radio:
- Use in a quiet environment with minimal background noise
- Begin with a clear intention or questions for spirits
- Be patient and allow time for responses
- Record your sessions for later review
- Try different times of day and locations
Can I save my recordings?
Yes! Ghost Radio allows you to save all your sessions. Recordings are stored on your device and can be:
- Replayed within the app
- Analyzed with the built-in tools
- Shared with others
- Exported for external analysis in other apps
Battery usage concerns
Ghost Radio uses several hardware components simultaneously (microphone, speaker, processor), which can drain your battery. For extended investigation sessions:
- Ensure your device is fully charged before starting
- Consider using a portable power bank
- Lower your screen brightness
- Close other apps running in the background
Troubleshooting common issues
No sound output
- Check your device volume
- Restart the app
Recording failures
- Check your available storage space
- Ensure the app has permission to access your microphone
- Verify that your microphone isn’t blocked or covered
App crashes
Each version contains numerous optimizations and bug fixes, so always ensure that you have upgraded to the latest version of Ghost Radio.
If you have the latest version and still experience crashes, try the following:
- Close background apps to free memory
- Restart your device Some version of Android (for example 5.0) has documented issues related to memory leaks, which can affect our app in an negative way.
- Automatic Recording The automatic recording feature which you can turn on/off on the Settings screen, enables the app to record only when an entity is present. This minimizes the time that the app records audio, thus minimizing memory consumption.
- Lower Recording Time Limit Longer recordings use more memory and setting a lower limit, may fix any crash issues that you experience. This option can also be changed on the Settings screen.
- Disable 3rd party apps or OS features that optimize CPU/Battery/Memory consumption Both OS features and 3rd party apps that optimize the device battery consumption and/or memory usage, can affect our apps in a negative way. Therefore try to disable any such apps and features on your device when using our app.
- Clear the application cache Some issues may be resolved by clearing the application cache for our app. Here’s a guide that explains how to do that: http://www.tomsguide.com/faq/id-2316483/clear-cache-data-specific-app-android.html
If nothing of the above helps, please contact our support.
Privacy concerns
Ghost Radio respects your privacy. The app:
- Only records when you explicitly start a session
- Stores recordings locally on your device
- Never uploads data without your permission
- Requires minimal permissions to function
Common Questions and Answers
What do our Support need in order to help you?
We will need at least the following information to be able to help you:
- The name of the app or application that your issue is related to, since we have several apps/applications.
- The brand and model of your mobile device or computer
- The name and version of the Operating System of your device (iOS, Android or Amazon Fire OS).
- A clear description of your problem so that we quickly can reproduce the same problem on our test devices.
App has low performance on my device or drains the battery too fast
Due to the nature of Ghost Radio, it requires both ample amounts of processing power and memory in order to perform well.
On, high-end devices, the app should normally run without any performance problems.
If you feel that the app behaves sluggish, and/or the sound is disorted, make sure that you don’t have any Battery Saving apps/features active, since these will generally degrades app performance on your device.
How does the Radio Control work?
The Radio Configuration panel was introduced in version 2.1.0 and enables you to control the following Radio parameters in real-time:
- Noise Volume The volume boost of the generated noise.
- Noise Type The type of noise that the app generates. Toggle between Brown, Pink and White noise.
- Noise Rate
- The frequency, i.e. “speed”, of the noise generation.
- Voice Quality Factor - Uses sound shaping algorithm to change the characteristics of the speech.
- Scan Rate - The app performs an analysis of the noise signal at regular intervals. This parameter sets the length of this interval. Higher scan rates (more than 50%) means that the chances of identifying anomalies increases, but on the other hand is also more performance intensive and also increases the risk of false positives.
- Scan Sensitivity - Has a direct impact on the analysis engine. The analysis engine searches for anomalies in the noise signal. The generated noise should, per definition, be 100% random and should therefore normally follow the mathematical rules regarding randomness, including value distribution, coverage and permutations. We define an anomaly as a sequence that defies at least one of these rules; a sequencence of numbers that aren’t possible to define as random. To perform this type of analysis a greater set of values are required. The amount of values is defined by the Scan Rate. A low Scan Sensitivity (less than 50%) means that the requirements for a sequency to be regarded as an anomaly is increased, while a higher setting (more than 50%) decreases the requirements and therefore more often identifies results. When an anomaly has been identified, the analysis engine switches to detailed analysis mode (Entity Present) and will remain in this mode until it fails to identify any more anomalies, and then switches back to scanning mode (Weak Signal).
- Echo - Turn off or change the echo produced by the app.
We encourage you to experiment with each of the parameters in order to find the combination that suits you best. You can save the configuration for quick access, in order to quickly switch between them later.
I cannot understand the speech
This app is built using a advanced algorithm for noise to speech. With the processing power of todays mobile devices, it is therefore not possible to make the speech clearer or analyzing it further in order to produce a textual context. The app would then be so slow that it would be unusable for most users and any longer being able to play sound in real-time. It would also require us to do more interpretation in the app and by this introducing more false positives; something that we don’t want.
There are already a lot of apps in this category in all of the app stores, and we don’t want to become like them: “random text machines”.
Some tips
- Turn up the volume
- Use an external speaker (either Bluetooth or with cable)
- Wait until the app is fully calibrated. The calibration bar is shown in the bottom of the TV screen.
- Have patience! Some users have reported that they get very clear speech, while others experience that they don’t understand anything at all or that they never hear anything. Time and Context, seems to be what differs most between these two categories of users. Please, give the app a chance and try it out for more a few minutes. Instead run it several times (15m+) during a longer period of time. If you still don’t get any or clearer speech, please contact our support.
Version 1.1.7+ of the app has voice to text translation based on an approximate algorithm, which means that the app will do its best to understand what is being said and show it on the TV screen. This means that sometimes only a part of the speech is shown.
The translation algorithm is still in development, and will be updated.
Three dots ”…” are used to show you the position of the identified part. If no dots are shown, the speech was completely translated.
Beginning: Some characters… Middle: …Some characters… End: …Some characters Example
Please note that this is only and example and does not reflect actual app content!
Speech: “Cows are green”
Beginning: Cows… Middle: …are… End: …green
What app permissions does the app need and why?
-
Photos/Media/Files (read and modify/delete)
-
Storage (read and modify/delete) Both recording and the Speech to Text log needs to be able to save files to the persistent storage of your device.
-
Camera Control flashlight The app doesn’t actually use the Camera, but needs permission to access the Camera in order to turn the flashlight on and off if you have this setting enabled: Entity Alert Flashlight.
-
Control vibration If you have the settings, Entity Alert Vibrate, the app needs to have permission to vibrate your device.
-
Microphone If you record using the normal mode (Settings/Legacy Recording is set to Off), then the app must have access to the Microphone in order to be able to record sound.
-
Change your audio settings Since the app is pretty audio intensive, this permission is needed in order for us to mute/unmute and change volume of the app sounds.
-
Prevent device from sleeping The setting Prevent Screensaver, is used to prevent your phone screen to get turned off, while using the app. This permission is needed in order to make that possible.
-
Wi-Fi connection information
-
Receive data from Internet
-
View network connections
-
Full network access The main functionality of the app doesn’t require Internet access (you can even run it in flight mode), but in the app there is a Promotions screen (The button on the main radio screen with a plus [+] icon.) that users can open, in order to see some of our other apps. The list with these apps are read from our servers, since it makes it possible for us to notify our users of new promotions as they occur. The app needs an Internet connection for the feedback feature, where users can send messages directly to us, and also for opening this Knowledge base and contacting our support directly from within the app. Finally, as most other apps, this app uses the Google Analytics service, to monitor anonymous and aggregated usage data as stated in our Privacy policy: https://paranormalsoftware.com/apps/ghostradio/privacy.
-
Google Play license check In order to prevent piracy, the app uses the Google Play system for license verification.
If any of the above permissions are disabled, the app may behave unexpectedly or even crash in some cases.
What is the EMF measurement for?
If your device has a Magnetometer/Compass sensor, the app will show the measurements on the main TV screen and also use them as seed entropy for the analyser, allowing even greater external influence over the readings from the app.
The Magnetometer sensor is used to measure the Electromagnetic Field strength (EMF) around your device. Compass apps use this to measure earths magnetic field and identify to which direction north is. But the sensor is extremely sensitive to all electromagnetic fields, not just earths magnetic field. The measurements are read multiple times per second and can detect various forms of Electromagnetism, much the same way as the equipment professional Paranormal investigators use.
Measurement unit Ghost Radio shows the EMF strength in Mikrotesla (µT) units, but EMF is also sometimes measured in Gauss. Mikrotesla readings can easily be converted to Gauss by dividing the Mikrotesla value by 100, which means that 1 Mikrotesla is the same as 0.01 Gauss.
Normal EMF Strength Earths magnetic field is normally somewhere between 25-65 Mikrotesla (µT). Other things also influence the readings, like the quality of your device sensor, objects around you that emit magnetic fields (other devices, audio speakers, TV screens etc.), and how much the device itself leaks. From our experience EMF strength between 25-100 should mostly be considered normal, higher than that indicates that there is either something wrong with your device or that something is present that disturbs the magnetic field around your device. Normally when your device is totally still, the EMF measurements should show reasonably stable readings that only fluctuates a couple of Mikrotesla.
Calibration To get as good readings as possible, ensure that the Magnetometer sensor in your device is properly calibrated. The easiest way to calibrate the sensor is to follow the guide for our EMF Recorder app: http://exelerus.com/ostic/kb/faq.php?id=35
Our EMF Recorder app We’ve created an app that relies solely on the Magnetometer sensor, that records the EMF measurements over a longer period of time.
What is the in-app Feedback button for?
The Feedback button, which can be found on the Settings screen, is a way for users to quickly send one-way anonymous feedback to us, without even leaving the app. You can write just a couple of words or a longer text, it is up to you.
The only thing we can see is what Operating System your device runs (Android, Amazon OS or IOS), the message you sent, and when you sent it; nothing else. These messages are only available to our internal staff.
And yes, we read the feedback messages every day! It is always interesting to read, since a lot of new ideas that have been implemented in the app, came to us this way.
When is the app calibrated?
In order to provide reliable results, Ghost Radio, must perform a calibration.
The progress of the calibration is represented by a graphical bar in the bottom of the main TV screen. When the progress bar becomes full and reaches green colour, the app has successfully calibrated. The process is fully automatic and does not require any user intervention.
Depending on the current operating environment and the properties of the device, the calibration process normally takes between five to 20 minutes to perform. Currently this process must be performed each time the radio is turned on, but we are working on an upgrade that will improve the time it takes to calibrate the app.
When fully calibrated, the app will start the speech to text translation engine and the speech becomes clearer.
During the calibration process, the app tries to determine the availability, reliability and maximum and minimum readings of the device sensors; including the magnetometer/compass sensor, Wifi and/or any 2G/3G/4G signal. If none of these are present, the app falls back to randomization using the Mersenne Twister algorithm and the Brownian noise generation.
Recommendations
- It is recommended not to move around the device too much during and after the calibration process, since this can lead to results of low quality.
- Keep a good distance from devices that emit electromagnetic fields, including TV screens, radios, computers and other mobile devices. The app takes into account the electromagnetic field (EMF) that is produced by the device the app runs on but cannot do this in a reliable way for nearby EMF sources.
- Even if not calibrated, Ghost Radio will perform analysis of the brownian noise signal, but we cannot guarantee the quality of the results, before calibration has been fully performed.
White, Brownian and Pink noise?
We have implemented three different types of audio noise in Ghost Radio:
-
Brown / Red (supported in all versions) Brown noise is named after botanist Robert Brown, who discovered Brownian motion (random particle motion) in the 1800s. The change in sound signal from one moment to the next is random. Brown noise has a lot more energy at lower frequencies than it does at higher frequencies. Brown noise is sometimes referred to as red noise because it’s somewhat analogous to red light, which has a low frequency.
-
White noise (supported in some versions) Gets its name from white light. White light is a combination of all color frequencies, and white noise is similar since it’s a combination of all the different frequencies of sound humans can hear. The noise is the signal (frequency), created when all the different frequencies of audible sound that the human ear and brain can perceive are put together at a similar level. The sound of white noise we hear as humans therefore is the sound of all the frequencies between 20 and 20,000 Hertz
-
Pink As with white noise, pink noise contain all the frequencies that are audible to humans, but the way their signal power is distributed among those frequencies is different. White noise has equal power throughout all frequencies, while the power in pink noise decreases as the frequency increases. The pattern of pink noise occurs in a number of natural systems, including your daily heartbeat rhythms, quasar luminosity and traffic flow.
There are many more types of noise, but the above three are the most commonly used in the Paranormal community, especially White noise.
For more information, there is a good article on Wikipedia regarding this subject: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colors_of_noise)[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colors_of_noise]
There are no sounds from the app
If the app doesn’t produce any sounds there are some things worth checking out, before contacting our support:
1: Does the interface sounds work? Do you have any sounds at all from the app, i.e. does tapping on the different User Interface buttons produce clicks (Ensure that “UI Sounds” are enabled in the Settings)?
2: Does the speech sounds work? Also, does the “Test Voice” button on the Setting screen produce any sound?
-
Does sound in other apps work? Does other apps produce sound on your phone?
-
Headset/Headphones, external speakers? Have you had any headset or headphones connected to your Samsung S6 (wired or wireless) lately? When using wired headphones, connect and disconnect them from the phone and also temporarily disable bluetooth, in order to ensure that sound isn’t redirected to the wrong speakers. Also try to connect headphones to your phone and see if they produce any sound from the app.
-
Check your phones mute mode? Ensure that you phone isn’t in mute mode or similar. Specifically for Samsung Galaxy S6 and similar models: (http://gadgetguideonline.com/galaxys6/samsung-galaxy-s6-guides/how-to-silence-samsung-galaxy-s6-and-s6-edge/)[http://gadgetguideonline.com/galaxys6/samsung-galaxy-s6-guides/how-to-silence-samsung-galaxy-s6-and-s6-edge/]

Are all app settings ok? There are some settings on the Settings Screen to are worth to check out once more:
- Speech - Ensure that this is set to On
- Low-end device mode - If this settings is shown, try to run the app with it first with Off and then once more in On mode. Please note, that when you change this setting, you must shut down the app and restart it, since the change gets enabled only when the app is freshly started up. Easiest way is to do this is probably by using the “Exit App” button also found on the Settings screen, and then start the app again by tapping on its icon.
- Ensure that the app permissions are enabled. Please read the following Google guide for how to change individual app permissions in Android 6+: (https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/6270602?hl=en)[https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/6270602?hl=en]
For full operation, the app should have the following permissions enabled:
- Camera - The app doesn’t actually use the Camera, but needs permission to access the Camera in order to turn the flashlight on and off if you have this setting enabled in the app (Flashlight Entity Alert).
- Microphone - If you record using the normal mode (Not Settings: Legacy Recording), then the app must have access to the Microphone in order to be able to record sound.
- Storage - Both recording and the Speech to Text log needs to be able to save files to the persistent storage of your device.
If any of the above permissions are disabled, the app may behave unexpectedly or even crash in some cases.
- Restart the phone. Finally: Try to shutdown and restart your phone.
I have recording problems
Since Ghost Radio normally records using the device microphone there are some things that are especially important:
Ensure that the app sound is coming from the speaker, so don’t use any type of headset (wired or wireless) while recording. The best results are achieved using an external speaker (wired or wireless) since these usually have better sound quality than the built-in ones. Also ensure that the volume level is high enough for the microphone to pickup the audio from the app and that nothing is obstructing the speakers of your device. Recording Limit, which can be set on the Settings screen, limits the maximum time the app records. When recording and the time limit is passed, the app will automatically stop the recording. The limitation on recording time, ensures that the app won’t crash due to memory consumption or drain the battery of your device. If you encounter crash issues when recording, it can be an indication that you should try a lower recording limit. Certain devices have noise cancellation features which can interfere with recordings. If possible, try to turn it off in your phone settings (usually found somewhere in the Sound/Audio category). The Legacy Recording feature, which is activated from the Settings screen, allows you to record entirely without the microphone. You can enable this feature on the Settings screen. When Legacy Recording is enabled, the app will only record the sound that itself produces and the microphone won’t be used at all. The app will save files in WAV format, which means that the recording files are larger than in the normal mode. To avoid instability the Recording Limits (Settings screen) will automatically be lowered. The Auto Recording feature which also is activated from the Settings screen, means that the app doesn’t immediately start recording when you press the Recording button on the main screen. Instead of glowing red, the light below the recording button, glows yellow to indicate that the app is in auto recording mode. When the light is yellow, the app does not record, but is in standby to record: While in this mode the app will start recording automatically each time an entity is detected and then pause the recording when the signal is lost.
Each time this happens a new recording file will be saved and all recordings from an Auto Recording session is saved in a group folder. On the recordings screen you can browse such folders by clicking on them, much like browsing the file system on your device or a computer. When doing so, their contents are revealed, i.e. the individual recording files. You can use these files as normal, e.g. listen, delete or share them.
-Some users have reported problems to start the Auto recording while an entity is already present. To avoid this problem, please start the recording immediately when the radio is started. As described above, the app will still not record until something interesting is detected and the Recording Limit applies only to each individual recording moment, so in theory you could be able to record for hours and still only get files with interesting content. The files produced when using Auto Recording is normally in M4A format or WAV format if you use Auto Recording together with the Legacy Recording feature (5). It is of course also possible to record using a third party app, or a digital recording device. This is especially a good alternative when using the app on older or low-end devices, since recording uses quite a lot of system resources. -On Android devices, the app normally records files in AMR format, unless you have activated the Legacy Recording mode, which produces uncompressed WAV files. Recordings requires storage space on your device, so please ensure that you have enough free storage for recording files to be created. -On Android, ensure that the app has permission to use the microphone: Open phone Settings then Apps and select the Ghost Radio app. Tap App Permissions on the App Info screen. You will see a list of permissions the app requests, and whether those permissions are toggled on or off. Tap the toggle to customize the setting.
I haven’t purchased the app from Google Play or Amazon
Sadly, we have encountered many cases were users (often unknowingly) have acquired illegal copies of the app.
These illegal version are often distributed for free, while the app is in fact a paid app.
Pirated versions have a number of problems associated with them, including:
- They may contain hidden malware or viruses
- They may contain aggressive ads, while the legal version is 100% ad free
- You won’t get any support from us
- You won’t have access to the latest upgrades
- The app may not run at all, since it incorporates piracy protection features
- You don’t support further development of the app, including new features and bug fixes
The only legal Android versions that currently are available for purchase can be found here:
(Google Play)[https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.exelerus.apps.ghostradio]
(Amazon)[http://www.amazon.com/Exelerus-Ghost-Radio/dp/B00OQHJTXC]
If you encounter any other download pages than the ones above, we are grateful if you send us the URL so that we can take legal measures, including filing DMCA takedown complaints.
Activation fails
The app uses the Google Play Licence Verification system to defend against piracy, and should under normal circumstances not prevent paying users from using the app. This system is a service provided by Google.
Below, we have listed the most common ways to resolve problems with the License verification system.
Google Play - User When the app is installed, ensure that you’re using the same Google account in Google Play, that you used when you purchased the app when starting the app. The app purchase is connected to that specific account, and may not work if you are not using the same account when the app is started.
Google Play - Sync Ensure that your Google Play account data is synced. Sometimes the Google Play app needs to be re-synced for the license check to work properly. Old account data may not include information about your purchase, and if that is the case, it helps to refresh it from Google.
Assuming that your phone is connected to active internet (Wi-Fi or 3G/4G Internet connection), and then follow the below steps:
Close down Ghost Radio entirely. The app has an Exit button on the Settings screen or use any other method for closing an Android app. Go to your phone Settings and tap on the Account / Account and Sync option (depending on which Android version you have installed on your device). Tap on the account that is connected with your device and Play Store. Enable the option Sync App Data if it isn’t enabled / or tap Sync Now in the top-right menu. Now start Ghost Radio again. Google Play - Cache Google stores local information on your device, to improve performance and offline usage. The cache may contain obsolete information, so ensure that the Google Play cache is fresh and does not contain invalid or old data.
Assuming that your phone is connected to active internet (Wi-Fi or 3G/4G Internet connection), and then follow the below steps:
Uninstall Ghost Radio. In the Settings, go to Applications. Now go to Manage Applications. Locate the Google Play Store/ Download Manager app and select it. Now press Clear Data and then Clear Cache. Then install Ghost Radio from Google Play again, and start it. Google Play License Verification If none of the above methods does solve the problem, there may be something wrong with the Google Play Verification system. Most such problems are temporary and are solved within hours, so try again after some time.
Refund We normally refund purchases if the problems persists. If you want a refund, we need the Google Play ordernumber, that was sent to you by email, when you purchased the app.
What are the settings on the Settings Screen for?
Ghost Radio has a number of different settings, which are available on the Settings screen. To open the Settings screen, use the button with a cog wheel icon, which is found in the lower part of the main radio screen.
Please note that not all settings are available in all versions of the app.
Current language The different flags represent the different languages that the app supports. When you choose a language the user interface as well as the ghost radio engine will switch to that language. By default the app uses the language that is used on your device.
Prevent Screensaver Normally your device will fade the screen in order to save battery, when not used for a while. This setting allows you to override that behaviour and instead always keep the screen on while the app is running.
Lock Screen Orientation Locks the screen in the current orientation, i.e. portrait or landscape.
Recording Limit Limits the maximum time the app records. When recording and the time limit is passed, the app will automatically stop the recording. The limitation on recording time, ensures that the app won’t crash due to memory consumption. If you encounter crash issues when recording, it can be an indication that you should try a lower Recording limit.
Legacy Recording Allows you to record entirely without the microphone. When Legacy Recording is enabled, the app will only record the sound that itself produces and the microphone won’t be used at all. The app will save files in uncompressed WAV format, which means that the recording files are larger than in the normal mode. To avoid instability the available Recording Limits will automatically be lowered.
Auto Recording Means that the app doesn’t immediately start recording when you press the Recording button on the main screen. Instead of glowing red, the light below this button, glows yellow to indicate that the app is in auto recording mode. When the light is yellow, the app does not record, but is in standby to record: While in this mode the app will start recording automatically each time an entity is detected and then pause the recording when the signal is lost. Each time this happens a new recording file will be saved and all recordings from an Auto recording session are saved in a group folder. On the recordings screen you can browse such folders by tapping them, much like browsing the file system on your device or a computer. When doing so, their contents are revealed, i.e. the individual recording files. You can use these files as normal, e.g. listen, delete or share them. Some users have reported problems to start the Auto recording while an entity is already present. To avoid this problem, please start the recording immediately when the radio is started. As described above, the app will still not record until something interesting is detected and the Recording Limit applies only to each individual recording moment, so in theory you could be able to record for hours and still only get files with interesting content. The files produced when using Auto Recording is saved in compressed M4A format or WAV format if you use Auto Recording together with the Legacy Recording feature.
Low-end device mode If you feel that the app behaves sluggish or just want to save battery, it can be worthwile to try to enable this mode. It gracefully degrades the app in order to use less system resources for the graphics and sound. The latter makes this mode suitable for Ghost hunting trips out in the field even if you have a high-end device that normally copes with the app performance requirements.
EMF Enables or disables the Electromagnetic Force detection. This feature relies on your device having a Magnetometer sensor.
Theme The app has various themes, which allows you to change the look’n’feel of the graphical user interface.
UI Sounds Allows you to enable or disable the sounds that are played when you’re using the user interface, e.g. button clicks.
Intro Music Allows you to enable or disable the intro music playing which is played each time the app is started.
Entity Alert Sound If this is enabled, each time an entity has been detected the app will play a short sound signal. The number of signals, indicate the strength of the presence, where one signal is the weakest.
Entity Alert Vibrate If this is enabled, each time an entity has been detected the app will vibrate the device. Only works if your device has vibration capability.
Entity Alert Flashlight If this is enabled, each time an entity has been detected the app will turn on the flashlight of your device. Only works if your device actually has a flashlight.
Version Info Shows the “What’s new” message that normally is shown only once when you start the app after an update.
Test Voice Use this button to test the Ghost Radio engine.
Support Opens our support center web page in your standard web browser.
Knowledge Base Opens this Knowledge Base web page in your standard web browser.
Feedback Enables you to send us short feedback messages directly from within the app.
Social network buttons Use these to share information about the app on your social networks.
Notifications If enabled, it allows us to occasionally send you news regarding the app using Push messages.
Exit App Turns off the app and exits.
Recording Samplerate Sets the recording quality and is by default set on lowest quality, which is 8000Hz. This produces small recording files. You can change the samplerate up to 44100Hz, which produces large recording files, but in CD-quality.
Allow Background Mode Allows Ghost Radio to run even if the app is in the background and not seen on Screen. This allows you to do other things on your device, while still having the radio (and the audio) on in the background. If you turn this parameter off, the app will automatically stop the radio (and stop recording) when the app is pushed to background.
Speech In some situations it may be appropriate to turn the Speech off. The radio will still work as normal, but will not generate any speech. When the app has been fully calibrated, all identified words and phrases, will still be shown on screen and logged to your Text Log.
How can I copy the Recordings from my iPhone/iPad to a computer?
On IOS devices, the app supports iTunes file sharing. You can find a good Apple guide here: (http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201301)[http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201301]
Another way to transfer the files (at least for reasonably small recordings), is by mailing them to yourself using the share function on the Recordings screen.
The file names always begin with the prefix “ghostradio_”.
